Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Kitty Up (the “app”), operated by Brandon Pang (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. The Service

Kitty Up is a tool for tracking shared expenses and calculating how those expenses are split among group members. It helps you keep a record of who paid for what and who owes whom.

Kitty Up is not a financial service. The app does not move, hold, store, or transfer real money. Balances, splits, and settlements shown in the app are informational records only. Any actual payment between users happens directly between those users, outside of the app. We are not a bank, money transmitter, or payment processor, and we are not a party to any settlement between users.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Kitty Up. By using the app, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep it up to date.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours.
Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the app or its infrastructure.
Upload content that is abusive, fraudulent, infringing, or otherwise harmful.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of the information you enter into the app, such as expense descriptions and group details. You grant us the limited license needed to store, process, and display that content for the purpose of operating the service for you and the group members you share it with.

6. Disclaimers

The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that balances or calculations are accurate, that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will meet your requirements. You are responsible for verifying any amounts before acting on them.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app, including any disputes between you and other users over money or settlements.

8. Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the app in a way that could harm other users or the service.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the app will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
